Church Administrator

Mission:

To efficiently and effectively create and maintain an organized environment with good communication and management that will enable the senior pastor, clergy and lay members to minister effectively, while serving in the spirit of excellence.

To serve as a conduit for the senior pastor, the leadership board and lay members exercising sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality and integrity. I Corinthians 12: 5, 28

Purpose: 

The Church Administrator – one who administers (directs, manages, oversees, supervises, or organizes) affairs (relationships, associations, business, governments, or departments); is responsible for managing, directing and providing clear direction for the administrative functions that supports Glory to Glory Ministries. Shall work in a professional manner with the appointed Ruling Elders and Ministry Directors and leaders to achieve the church’s mission, vision and objectives.  The church administrator reports directly to the Senior Pastor and indirectly to the Ruling Elders.  This individual must have thorough knowledge of organizational development strategies; strong organizational/administrative skills; and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills for effective interface with all contacts at all levels within and outside the organization.

Responsibilities:

The following list of duties is directed at achieving the above purpose. 

  • Answer all incoming telephone calls and distribute messages as deemed appropriate
  • Serve as secretarial support to Senior Pastor as needed
  • Oversee Publications Department and ensure all mailings, etc. is handled in a timely manner
  • Maintain visitor records, including names, mail and email addresses
  • Oversee membership database working with the New Members ministry
  • Maintain church calendar
  • Schedule use of rooms
  • Facilitate communication with Security, Maintenance and Hospitality departments regarding weekly building needs
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Facility Manager and Finance Manager as it relates to the needs of the facility and purchases that are to be made
  • Maintain a proper cash flow control (Petty Cash) to meet obligations
  • Assist in the smooth and successful integration of all activities of the Church
  • Assist church wedding consultant
  • Complete any other duties as assigned
