Counseling Ministry

The Counseling Ministry at Glory to Glory is an integral and unusual aspect of the local church.  It is part of the vision of the angel of this house, Pastor Aubrey Shines, that his congregation becomes balanced and whole persons.

The Counseling Ministry consists of Individual, Couples and Family Therapy, Coaching and Discipleship.  Pre-Marital Counseling is a prerequisite for any couple desiring to get married.  There is also Career Counseling and Decision Making offered.

This counseling ministry is highly unusual in that Pastor Shines walks in the office of a true prophet.  God often shows him the issue the person is dealing with, but unknown to the counselor.  When this is the case, the prophetic gift often seemingly jump-starts the Redemptive efforts of the Holy Spirit, and the counselor functions as a conduit or team member of the Lord’s healing process.

Another unique aspect of this Ministry is the relationship of the Word and Counseling.  Pastor Shines is committed to the sound and systematic teaching of the Word.  He is dedicated to the formation of balanced and mature believers so his messages are for the caring of the body, soul and spirit.  The result is that the Word being alive, sharp and dynamic in its work convicts the hearer who becomes awake and aware and usually is ready to move forward in making the Word personal.  Some time in counseling may be requested; however, because of the Word’s work, in rightly dividing between “soul and spirit”, less time is usually required for the obedient Christ follower.

Although Pastor is a young man himself, he is very dedicated to building cohesive families and especially encouraging men to be strong fathers.  This is a tremendous contribution to the church families and community.
